Formula Bro is a small website that explains well-known formulas to people who never got along with formulas. It covers four subjects: [AI and machine learning](/ai-ml/), [computer science](/computer-science/), [electricity](/electricity/) and [quantum mechanics](/quantum-mechanics/).

It is a side project developed by [Yunus Emre Vurgun](https://yunusemrevurgun.com/). The cat on the home page is the site mascot, also called Formula Bro.

## How a page is written

Every formula page follows the same order, so you always know where to look:

1. The formula in one sentence, before any math.
2. The formula itself, and how to read it out loud.
3. A table with every symbol, what it stands for and its unit.
4. What the formula is doing, step by step, and an everyday picture of it.
5. One worked example with small, friendly numbers.
6. The mistakes beginners make, where the formula shows up in real life, questions people ask, and the sources.

## How a page is checked

- Every number in every worked example is recomputed by a script each time the site is built. If one is off, the site does not publish.
- Physical constants use the official SI and CODATA values.
- Each page lists two or three sources, mostly encyclopedia articles and original papers, that state the same formula.
- The pages are drafted with the help of AI tools and then reviewed against those sources.

## Found a mistake?

Formulas are easy to get subtly wrong. If something on a page is wrong or unclear, send a note through the [contact page on yunusemrevurgun.com](https://yunusemrevurgun.com/contact) with the page address.

## The plain look

The site uses your computer's own fonts, no scripts and no tracking code, so pages load fast on any connection and print cleanly. Formulas are written in MathML, the math language browsers understand natively, so you can select and copy them.
